Gliding by
published: 2008-08-14Upon arriving at my office space this morning, I opened the blinds to discover two men had posted themselves outside my window. I waved at them and they jokingly asked whether I was opening up for coffee. It was an amiable start of the day. I hadn’t consciously registered they were wearing black suits. Neither had I wondered what they were even doing there, until moments later I saw them again. They were driving shiny black funeral cars. Each of them waved cheerily upon gliding past my window. It was the first time death seemed friendly to me.
