Who’s to know?

published: 2008-09-25

During my flamenco-class (the one I was supposed to have taken which was yesterday) it struck me yet again how dancing flamenco teaches a few valuable lessons. The obvious one being: you can't expect to be any good at it if you don't practice.
But there was also this: I wondered about a few dancers in the advanced class who were still pretty bad at it. Did they even realize? Maybe they did and simply didn't care. I'm trying to figure out which one is scarier – to not know you're bad at what you're doing. Or to know and not care.

Most people die of a sort of creeping common sense, and discover when it is too late that the only things one never regrets are one’s mistakes. (Oscar Wilde)

Better to have danced, than to have never danced at all.
