Two steps back
published: 2008-08-12Two weeks ago, I was still in Rio. I had been afraid to go back. My diary entry read:
"My aim now is to obtain wisdom. To become a wiser, more complete human being. To be freed of convictions and expectations. To be at ease with this world and the people in it. I want to see the world as a place of opportunity instead of a place of restrictions. I dread going back because I want to move forward. I wish I could do away with this fear by learning to believe that going back can simultaneously mean moving forward."
So far, I have succeeded in only one aspect – going back.
