Oh Joy! My doctor has given me sleep-facilitating drugs. "Do you know codeine?" he asked and I innocently blinked while shaking 'no'. Sure do I know codeine. Give me some give me some give me some please.
And he did.
He then asked whether my new novel was out yet. He had read my first novel and much to my surprise spontaneously called me to say how much he liked it. In response to his question I kind of "uh, well" answered him to which he said, "please, don't let me pressure you."
In fact, quite the opposite. On leaving his office I felt much better already. Codeine and interest, the perfect remedy.
