Jingle Bellspublished: 2009-01-04
We dismantled our Christmas tree today because it seemed that's what our entire street was doing on this Sunday, January 4th. Otherwise, the thought would have never occurred to me. My son is still singing Jingle Bells. Interestingly, his English is laced with a heavy Dutch accent. He has only recently learned to speak Dutch. It would seem therefore that an accent is not something learned, it's simply part of the deal when having learned any given language first. You're a kid living in France, you'll have a French accent when singing Jingle Bells.
