NY is great, but sometimes it can be full of shit (excusez les mots). Like when a guy at the coffee counter creates a palm-like swirl in my latte with its milk. I compliment him. He furrows his brow and says, "every coffee I make is a piece of art. The fact that it's consumed adds to the value of it. Because everything is so – like – insignificant. You dig?"
Yeah, sure I dig. I dig this is NY and if we believe the crap we're selling to ourselves, maybe someone else will too and then his palm-like swirls in lattes indeed become pieces of art we would even be prepared to pay 100 dollars for, just to consume.
