There was a summer storm. And the rain fell like a curtain on the stage, hiding whatever the story behind it. The catharsis had been introduced by the roar of thunder, and came as a flash of lightning.
But now, all that mattered was that it was raining. And it was raining so hard that it washed away all noise.
It ended as abruptly as it had started. It then took only a few minutes for the birds to start singing. Their voices were loud and triumphant. A fat bumble-bee searched lazily for nectar between the soaked petals of brightly colored flowers. And someone whistled a song.
