Black bird

published: 2009-05-22

A beautiful morning. It is aggressively disrupted by the desperate shrieking of little birds on the street. A black crow has attacked and caught one of them. Its tiny wings flutter wildly in the crow's sharp beak, soft feathers spread out around them, and dust. The crow is four times her size. Her three friends put up a courageous fight, snap at the crow, scream, and even plead. They are no match for the crow. He hops once, and once again, then flies off, the bird in its mouth. Where to? Perhaps to his nest in a tree, where he will release the little bird and tell her how much he loves her. That she is to be his forever and is never to leave him again. Or to water, where he will drown her for teasing him.
